UPDATE: NEW DATE 4TH & 5TH JUNE 2022
Last year, the club was successful in meeting up and playing the 100 year celebration fixture. Sadly, at the time due to Covid, the indoor event did not happen. This year, we are going for it again! This year, the social will be hosted at Horntye Park Sports Club on the 4th June and the following day, we will have a interclub match at a venue to be confirmed. It will be great to see as many of you as possible at either or both of the events. To allow us to gauge interest I would ask that you reply to this notice advising whether you are intending to attend the social, and how many may be in your party. There will be a cost for the evening which we believe will be no more than £17.50 per person.
With regard to the game on the Sunday afternoon could you also let me know if you are interested in taking part. Please do not be concerned if you feel you couldn’t last a whole match if you want to be in any way involved, I am sure we can arrange it.
To celebrate our 100th year Gray-Nicholls have been very supportive and have given the club a specially badged bat, worth approximately £180 and a club shirt with a centenary badge which is for sale. Images of both are attached.
It is proposed that the bat will be raffled on the Saturday evening with tickets costing £5. With regard to the shirt if you would like 1 of these the cost is £17.50 and can ordered in sizes from medium through to XXL. If you would like to order a shirt, could you please let me know and I can arrange for it to be ordered ready for you to collect on the Saturday evening.
We do hope you will be able to join us to celebrate, finally, the clubs 100th year and ask that you express your interest by emailing us at the following email address, CVCC100@yahoo.com as soon as possible.
UPDATE: NEW DATE 18TH AND 19TH SEPTEMBER 2021
Unfortunately due to the latest lockdown restrictions not being implemented as hoped on the 21st June it has been necessary to postpone the centenary events scheduled for the weekend of the 3rd & 4th July.
Fortunately we had a reserve date of 18th & 19th September pencilled in with Horntye, to cover such an eventuality. The format will be exactly the same with a social evening on the Saturday starting at 7pm followed by an interclub game of members past and present on the Sunday afternoon.
For those of you who have already paid for the social evening please let us know if you want the club to reimburse you should you not be able to attend the revised date and we will arrange for this to be done.
I know that we always ask this but we would be grateful if you could indicate ASAP as to whether you would be able to attend these revised dates and if you are interested in playing on the Sunday, so that we have an indication of the continuing interest.
Please email Peter Emanuel at CVCC100@yahoo.com or ring him on 07909517431.

2020 sees the 100th birthday of Clive Vale Cricket Club and they propose to celebrate it in style - all members both past and present are most welcome. The events are centred on the weekend of July 11th & 12th and comprise a social evening on the Saturday being held at Horntye, home of Hastings Priory CC, and now the traditional club match on the Sunday afternoon comprising teams made up from members past and present.
If you are an ex-member and would like to come along to both or either of the events the club ask that you express your interest by either emailing them at CVCC100@yahoo.com or by phoning or texting Peter Emanuel on 07909 517431.
Also any ex-members out there are asked to ensure they tell friends or family who may have played for the club, of the events so that as many people as possible have the chance to attend what should be a great weekend of nostalgia. In addition, if you are looking to play cricket and want to join the famous old club, let Peter know and he will be happy to put you in touch with the club captain, Carl Brook.
