Vale took the field at a wet and windy westfield knowing they were without the services of their best bowler who for some unknown reason was unavalible.

Vale lost the toss and were put in the field. Tight bowling from Daz Mortimer kept the score down initally after that G.Wenham 2/16 G.White 2/21 and Jim vale 2/21 did there best to keep the score down. Clive tong 74 was the main stay of the westfield inns in this 25 over a side match. He was well supported by young colt player Nick Taylor who scored 44.

In reply vale lost a couple of early wickets and despite the best efforts of the inform C.I.Brook who got 58 and G.Wenham who batted well for his maiden vale half century 51, they were to fail in their efforts. Young bowlers R.Feakes 4/39 and man of the match N.Taylor 3/4 did most of the damage.

A special mention must go to Dave Legg who when everybody else thought the game would finish, perservered not allowing the fact it was chucking it down to put him off in the pursuit of not having a single game called off this season at westfield.
